Yemen Conflict: Al Mahweet, Yemen

Al Mahweet, Yemen,
September 2018
Rassam, 7, with a jerrycan full of water. His mother Nadia has one wish: for the war in Yemen to stop. Because of the current conflict, her kids can’t attend school; they don’t have enough food; they can’t afford to go to the doctor; and they live in constant fear. “With the current war, there is no future for us or for our kids,” she says.
Mercy Corps built a water point in their community, providing them with a safe, affordable source of clean water. Now that they don’t have to rely on expensive water trucking, they can focus their income on other things they need to survive.
